My first credit card, 19M, Student

I was searching for my first credit card as a full-time student and came across the Discover Student Card. When I applied, it stated there was a 99% acceptance rate, but I was rejected. The same thing happened when I applied for the Capital One Savor Student Card. I want to understand what factors might be preventing me from being accepted. My yearly income is around $25,000, and I have a 680 credit score (Chase), which I achieved using Chime Credit Builder a while back. If anyone has tips or ideas as to why I got denied, I’d greatly appreciate it.
