Why do people target certain creatures?

I genuinely don't get it honestly. I've been attacked by a FUCKING BABY when I was playing as noctla. A BABY. I HAD TO LOG BECAUSE OF A GOD DAMN BABY. Isn't really important to the question but it was just weird asf to me.

But someone please explain why people target creatures? Are they pissed because the creature is more expensive than theirs? Do they have some kind of deep hatred for the creature because it murdered their entire family or smth? I genuinely don't get it especially when it comes to creatures like boreal and other tier 5s. Yeah there are kosers who use those creatures but when I'm just chilling at oasis with my boreal, occasionally eating or moving then why tf do I get jumped by 15 fliers and other tier 5s.

And then there's creatures like noxu which people just leave alone like people couldn't kos with those as well. I genuinely don't get it.

Also on a random side note: my noctla got killed today because I jokingly said "that's my nest now" after sitting on someone's nest. That was also.. something
