CR-10 Smart: troubleshooting
CAPTIONED PICTURES BELOW
Heya! I've been running a pair of Creality CR-10 Smart printers for a couple years now and it's been very smooth sailing with them pretty much the entire time.
This particular machine is entirely stock, aside from replaced consumable parts and a swapped cable for Octoprint functionality.
When I try to turn on the machine I press the silver power button on the right hand side and it turns on for a second, the fans spin up, the screen lights up but doesn't display anything and then immediately powers itself off.
If I press and hold the power button the fans spin up, the screen lights up and the Creality boot animation starts, but freezes on the first frame and then when I release the button it powers itself off.
The last time I used this printer (less than a week ago) everything was functioning perfectly, it's just decided to crap the bed now.
Any ideas what could be wrong and where to start looking?
My initial theory was something firmware related, but i've had no success updating the firmware. (same thing as above when trying to start normally)
Someone else mentioned that it may be something related to the PSU, weather there was an issue with the PSU itself, or something was shorting. after taking a peek inside i've not seen anything disconnected or any obviously damaged cables and the PSU seems to be functioning normally.
does anyone else have any suggestions on which goose to chase next?
