Basic UI principles

There has to be some principle at the heart of UI design that ties in with customer base retention. The calendar used to have a month layout to see weeks and days.
with this new change it feels unfamiliar, mundane , and tiresome.
I think it's ok to make these changes but at least have the option to see the old layout or make it "intuitively" accessible. I dont usually go out of my way to rant but this is the 3rd time its happened. And at this point I dont have time to figure out a new app every 6-7mo. I might as well use my native apple notes.
