Horribly cold weather incoming, with a 100+yr old drafty house - recipes to simmer away on the stovetop or oven?
The highs this week are 6F, and my poor old house can't cope. I have plans to fix this for next winter, but in the interim I'm looking for some cooking inspiration to help keep the house warm.
I have both a Gumbo and Beer Stew recipe, but neither sound good to me at the moment. I also have a labor of love Bolognese, which admittedly I think I will do. But the real problem is I'm looking at 5 days of horrible cold, and I don't think my stomach cold take that many days of super rich stewy food.
All of my googling just turns up super hearty HEAVY meals, so I'm sorta stumped. Would especially love some veggie heavy options!
