Empire 40 DIY šŸ™ˆ

Gave my Empire 40 the ā€œOlsen twin beat up Birkinā€ effect.

Mary-Kateā€™s beat up Birkins (see last 2 pics) live rent free in my head, so those, along with the runway version of the Empire 48, are the inspiration behind this DIY.

I love the retail version of the Empire 48 in Honey Beige but a) I donā€™t think itā€™ll ever be available in Canada and b) it wasnā€™t ā€œdestroyedā€ enough for me.

So with great trepidation, I decided to DIY my Empire 40. Not gonna lie-the whole time I was reluctant to ā€œruinā€ an $850 CDN bag thinking if I hated the end result, I just wasted all that money. šŸ™ˆ

My original plan was to take my Empire 40 to a leather shop to get the burnished effect, but ultimately decided to do it myself to ensure my vision comes to life.

Iā€™m glad thatā€™s what I did and Iā€™m very happy with the result of my DIY. I much prefer this aged look and think itā€™ll look even better as it naturally ages over time.

I know that this wonā€™t be everyoneā€™s cup of tea, but thatā€™s fine! I love it and could not be more excited to wear it.

Wishing everyone happy holidays!! šŸŽ„
