Need the nitty gritty of homosexuality and Christianity

I’ve heard every single iteration of “it’s a sin”, “you can have thoughts but not act on it”, “it’s not a sin”. I’ve read the Bible verses (sodom, etc) pertaining to being gay, but with the context it seems they’re more talking about prostitution and rape. I don’t know where god stands on being gay, is it personal interpretation? Am I not saved for being gay? I just need a full summary on what it really means to be gay as a Christian 😭 sorry if this has been asked a million times.
