Why do some Christians hate lgbtq

So im a new Christian but it doesnt make sense to me to hate those whom are in the lgbt community since what u do to others u do to jesus. I also think they then dont follow the part love thy neighbour as u love yourself. And i get that love≠acceptance but why do they hate if they are told to love. They also say they hate the sin and not the sinner but then spread hate to those communities. It doesnt only give People a bad view of them but also of christianity as a whole and might make People be less likely to become Christian. Can anyone explain this to me.
