What do Christians mean when they “see” Jesus?

I’m not Christian, but I hear a lot of believers say that they saw Jesus but what does that mean?

Does it mean you felt his spiritual presence, physically saw him, or something else?

I’m not doubting whether you did or didn’t, I respect all religions and am happy you have something to believe in.

Could someone just clarify this for me? Thanks.
