Chinese New Year — Questions

Hello everyone,

I have one question for your concerning the Chinese New Year.

Where I study we have some Chinese students and I got invited to their celebration of the Chinese New Year on Saturday.

Since I know that they are missing their families and home during this time extremely, I wanted to make them a little New Years card.

Thus, I was wondering if you have any traditions on what cards you gift to each other? Or do you have any examples maybe?

Or what I could write in Chinese?
