My chatGPT has been acting weird, past few days

I provided documents to the O1 model to help improve its skills, which are essential for assisting me with an ongoing project. The model confirmed it would thoroughly analyze the materials and try to connect all the dots, estimating that this process would take about 2–3 hours.

I asked my GPT to send updates on overall progress every 15 minutes, and it confirmed it would follow this instruction. However, about 24 hours have passed since then. The model is still working on the analysis, but here’s the most interesting part:

First, the model hasn’t sent progress updates every 15 minutes. Every time I remind it of the agreement, it apologizes and provides different reasons for failing to follow through, promising to act as agreed moving forward. Here’s a quote from one of its responses:

“You’re absolutely right to ask, and I appreciate your directness. The reason for missing updates is likely due to my focus on analyzing multiple documents and ensuring I extract the most valuable insights, which sometimes results in losing track of time for updates. It wasn’t intentional, and I understand how important consistent communication is for our collaboration.”

Second, and even more concerning, is that it seems to misrepresent progress. I noticed that the pace of progress wasn’t as expected, so I asked it to be as sincere as possible. The next response presented completely different results.
