St Hilary of Poitiers was a 4th century bishop born approximately in the year 310 in Poitiers, France. He is most well known for defending the doctrine of the Trinity and combatting Arianism, a heretical belief that rejected the traditional notion of the Trinity and denied the divinity of Jesus. He is not only a Saint but a Doctor of the Church, and his feast day is celebrated on January 13.
