Is my cat eating enough?
Just wondering if my kitten is eating enough. She isn't a large cat but she 10mo so I understand she might grow.
I was feeding her at set intervals - approximately 3 spoonfuls of wet food split up into 4 meals & a handful of dry food (all food is kitten food). She wouldn't always finish it all, and she did gain a little too much weight (per the feeling of the ribs test).
I've cut her food back slightly & now she gets 100g of food total per day - 60g wet, 40g dry. Is that enough? She is finishing it all now & is keen to eat, which is good to see.
I just feel like it's not very much food & can't find any good guidelines online. I know nutrition varies by brand - I feed her a variety of good quality foods (those with whole foods for at least the first 5 ingredients) so that she doesn't get stuck on one & get fussy.
Is this a normal amount of food for a lil girl?
