Going active with just an amp

If anyone has ever done this id be interested in knowing how it was. I am looking into the audio control LC-6.1200 x6. It has a 500-3000hz crossover on the front channels HPF, In my eyes, i could put my tweeters on this channel and the mids on the rear which would be crossed lower of course, then the subs on there own channel as well. pros and cons please.
