Thoughts on SSD

Hey what do we think about the chances of the negotiation team with get rid of SSD?

In my experience SSD has been a total disaster in our depot. The sequence mail is not checked for COA's (A clear violation on fiduciary duty)

Sequence mail is all upsidedown and backwards full of missorts

Same with router mail. And the bundles are too big to back hand. So I have no choice but to merge my mail

However this takes me 20 to 40 minutes every day and I am only valued for 35 minutes to get out the door and it usually takes me 1 to 1.5 hours

We can't do our flyers before our routes so I'm left staying after my shift to collate which I'm only valued 12 minutes for and it usually takes me at least 30 on a slow day and an hour or more on a busy day.

We don't get a list of hazards We don't have a list of COA's

We don't have a place to hang our wet satchels.

I got heatstroke 4 times this summer. I have to do 30,000 steps a day and everyday is like 80 to 90% coverage. And I can't get and article 50 because there is no language about SSD in our contract.

Not only that but the routers in our depot have not been permitted to see their time values and we have no means of acquiring this information.

They are being told to stay 8 hours even if they finish early. then denied overtime if they can't finish so routes are not going out and folks are sorting and delivering overburdened routes without being given proper 17.04 overtime for it.

Injuries are up but underreported because they leave a single evening super there who is chronically unavailable

The whole thing is a mess and I want it gone or at least with reformed with things like -plugged sequence mail and proper flyer values Proper coverage value.

But until that happens the struggle continues.

I personally don't think the negotiation team will be able to get rid of SSD but I want to hold on to hope.

And maybe make people more aware of the issue.
