Aside from rolling the dice for a higher rarity weapon, is the Mystery Box now rendered pointless?

The Mystery Box has been practically the poster child for the Zombies Mode. Zombies wouldn’t be Zombies without the Pack-a-Punch or Mystery Box. And yet I feel like there is no purpose of the Mystery Box anymore. The only argument one could provide is taking a chance on getting a higher rarity weapon. Loadouts and Gobblegums have rendered it pointless. I can’t understand why someone would choose to pour their points into it. Ever.
