What did your first Love/Breakup teach you about yourself?

Hi everyone, as the title says I just want to hear about what you learned after going through your first breakup or heartbreak?

I personally just got out of my first long term relationship of 2 years and I have learned a whole lot about myself. One big thing I just learned is to never put anyone on a pedestal (Woman or Man) you will be at the mercy of your partner to be potentially taken advantage of and overtime more than likely they will lose respect and attraction for you if you are always putting their needs above you. Another huge thing I learned from this experience is to love yourself completely first before you enter a relationship and then find a partner who complements you and can give you even more love in their own special way.

tl;dr: What did you learn from your first breakup?

Would love to hear any other lessons/wisdoms from your personal experiences!
