Let's Talk about Randoms (in a nutshell)

1. What is a Random in Brawl Stars?

Randoms can be anyone in the entire world (or in the multiverse). A random is basically a person you aren't collaborating directly with; it could even be your best friend. Don't assume that every single random is low-skilled and someone that wants to be carried.

There are three types of randoms (there could be more):

  • good randoms that will help you win battles and trophies
  • bad randoms that'll slow you down and cause your team to lose
  • trolling players that intentionally blows their opportunity to win, and takes his teammates down with him

I want to take a moment and create a post about the stereotypes of the lowest IQ randoms (which are the worst of all randoms).

2. Low IQ Randoms in a Nutshell:

  • They pretend you don't exist
  • They think they can win the mode without their teammates (aka one-man army)
  • They never collaborate, aka they don't know what "teamwork" is
  • They usually prefer auto-aiming
  • They are attracted to things such as gems and power cubes
  • They love to spend their time exhausting their ammo to kill enemies
  • They are usually causal players (don't like grinding)
  • They don't have a lot of experience playing yet

NOTE: The term "Low IQ Randoms" doesn't mean the player has a low IQ. This term means they know the basics to Brawl Stars, but simply don't know the advanced mechanics yet (aka strategy, synergy, team comps, etc).

3. Stereotypes of Bad Randoms

Here are some low IQ random stereotypes I've experienced on certain game modes.

Gem Grab

  • Their only goal is to kill enemies, despite if they're winning or losing
  • They want to collect all the gems. Low IQ randoms don't care who's gem carrier.
  • Some randoms don't know how to retreat during countdown (even if they have gems). They'll simply want to get that extra kill, and die in the process (which makes your team drop gems)
  • They are attracted to the gem hole and like getting close to it

Duo Showdown

  • They think Duo Showdown is Solo Showdown
  • They are attracted to power cubes and will always attempt to be the first one to get the powercube, and dies in the process
  • Always goes for the power cubes whether their teammate is dead or not. Randoms will NEVER save power-cubes for their teammates.

Brawl Ball

  • Loves touching the ball, but doesn't know how to pass
  • only knows how to aim & shoot the ball straight (higher IQ randoms like doing trickshots)
  • aims the ball with their super at 3 enemies instead of passing (thinking they can score even if it's impossible)
  • They want full credit when scoring (aka their name appears after the goal). This means if you are standing in front of them (prior to them scoring), they'll simply walk the ball in to ensure full credit to themselves
  • Some randoms (that can destroy walls) uses their super to finish off one single enemy while aiming at their own goal in Brawl Ball, destroying all the cover

Bounty

  • Their only goal is to kill enemies, despite if they're winning or losing
  • They don't collaborate with other teammates (thinks they are a 1-man army)
  • They don't know how to retreat during countdown (when they're winning). They'll simply want to get that extra kill, and die in the process (which makes your team lose)
  • They are attracted to the 1 star in the middle

Siege

  • Stays in the IKE range attempting to get extra IKE damage even when the Siege bot dies
  • Wastes all their ammo attempting to get one bolt, and dies
  • They think they can solo-dive into the IKE range with 70%+ IKE hitpoints

Heist

  • They only know how to attack the safe (can't determine the right time to defend or attack)
  • Auto-aims on the safe
  • Low IQ Jessies, Nitas and Pennys will attempt to attack the safe without getting their super first (I could be wrong)

Boss Fight

  • Loves to collect/steal all the power cubes from the Boss and dies
  • Autoaims all their shots
  • They don't know what an exploit is. Their only goal is to do damage to the Boss, whether they'll survive or not

Using the "Find Teammate" Feature (other)

  • They never collaborate with other teammates
  • They never use the "chat feature" (aka saying "Hi") - Their first move is selecting their own brawler, then READY
  • Some randoms don't like taking Brawlers suggestions from other teammates
  • After winning all their games in Power Play or Championships, they'll leave the team the first chance they get. No "good game" and no celebration
  • Their tolerance is very low when it comes to waiting

Other Interesting Facts about Randoms:

  • Healers like Poco and Pam will use their healing (supers & gadgets) on themselves (I call them "selfish healers"). Poco randoms usually autoaims their super
  • Randoms like using Shelly a lot
  • Some randoms are very attracted to Bo's gadget
  • Randoms love using jump pads
  • Mortis randoms autoaims all their attacks on an enemy, wasting all their ammo on a wall instead
  • Random Pams are the safest randoms to have (change my mind)

TL;DR

Low IQ Randoms in a nutshell:

  • Randoms never collaborate with other teammates
  • They love auto-aiming
  • They are attracted to interactive elements (gems, spring traps, etc)
  • They think they're a 1-man army
