Why do people not appreciate Floyd Mayweather as a boxer?

I have watched almost all of Floyd's fights and he's one of the most incredible boxers I've ever witnessed. In his Pretty Boy Floyd days, he had a 90% KO rate with blistering fast combos and incredible defense. He's been outboxed early in fights several times but he's always been able to make the proper adjustments. He's a masterful tactician.

Everyone nitpicks his career and says 'He didn't didn't Pacman in his prime, didn't fight De Loya in his prime' etc but these people don't seem to use this criticism against any other all-time great boxer. Hell, Pacquiao fought some of Floyd's opponents AFTER he beat them and nobody discredits Manny's wins.

Also, no one talks about how everyone was avoiding Floyd at 135. He broke his hands from bashing in people's heads. The fact that he was able to extend his career with brittle hands in a sport like boxing by becoming the greatest defensive boxer of all time is simply amazing.

I get that there's plenty to criticise about him outside the ring: wife beater, can't read, over-used phrases etc but that should not affect how you feel about Floyd as a fighter. I don't give two shits if he's the biggest asshole in the world. Would he be a horrible person? Yes. Should you look up to him as a person? No. Would I bet my life on him winning a boxing fight in his prime still? Yessir 💯

Edit: I've noticed people don't tend to put Floyd in their top 3-5 PFP all time or call him a GOAT which makes no sense to me given everything he has accomplished, so why?
