Is Kawaki ment to be hated

Kawaki is in my regard Boruto's best written character especially in part 1.

I understand why Kawaki is where he is now. Code arc was rough for this guy and getting back his karma while being in the bad mental state completly ruined him.

I loved this character development and felt natural.

TBV Kawaki is a joke and pathetic in many moments. Which is ment to be a point. I guess he's ment to be hated now but concidering a big development is coming for him soon is this hate happening too soon.
