I donate money but be aware of scams

Hi,

For one, I am not giving out any loans. I donate to people rather in need but I’ve given out several thousands this year on Reddit already so I’m closed so please don’t reach out for money.

However I do need to warn people here. There are scammers on the borrower side and lender side.

Lender side- 1. Scam if they ask for upfront fee 2. Scam if they want your bank information or social security 3. Scam most likely if they have no karma 4. Scam if they want your address and all your very private information before even agreeing to a loan - they steal your info and block you

Borrower side- 1. Constantly asking for different amount 2. Low to no karma on reddit 3. Has no history of a loan - although I’ve met good people with no history of loans 4. Doesn’t agree to providing paperwork or documentation that shows what they need the loans for. We aren’t going to give you money for drugs or alcohol.

I really hope this helps people prevent getting scammer. I’ve donated to countless people who have been unfortunately been in medical situations that got scammed from paying upfront fee.
