Failed NJ emissions due to drive cycle?

Online it says that I have to do a bunch of convoluted shit whereas my mechanic said to just drive it 100 miles and that’s it. I had a misfire that led to a SES light and I fixed that just a week ago and have only done city driving since then, could that be what’s causing this?
