AITA Customer asked if this is my real hair
So I (24 Black woman) have French curl braid jet black 24 inch inch right now which looks marvellous on me and I often get many but compliments every day, but anyone with eyes can see these are braids with curly extensions.
I live in a very multicultural suburb where braids are literally everywhere specially where my workplace is located which has been labeled ‘Africa Town’.
Today a white woman (55-60) asked me if my hair is real, I haven’t been asked this question since I was a young teenager i was completely shocked. I told her I’m not answering the question and she repeated what I said with a question mark at the end but I doubled down and repeated I will not answer the question.
I felt really annoyed and offended at first, not because I’m insecure about my natural hair because I love my natural hair and very happy and proud about it. But offended because how dare you question my appearance? The lady had a horrible outfit and was severely overweight which naturally I don’t judge.
But after she asked that question I thought horrible things about her in retaliation.
