Asta's father theory
I just finished watching the movie and have finished the anime. Alot of the theories I see are claiming it's either juilius or a random human, but I have another idea. I think it's Conrad Leto, the previous wizard King. Heres my reasoning:
We know that because of licita's curse, the father would have to be someone who could survive having their mana/life force drained away, which eliminates most civilians, and makes me doubt whether it's Julius. Although Julius could survive having his mana drained, it would still be taxing nonetheless, and as a magic knight captain/wizard King, I find it unlikely he would be willing to unnecessarily lose a chunk of his magic just for a woman. Not to say he wouldn't, but I see his sense of duty to his kingdom preventing him from weakening himself in that situation.
However, because of Conrad's magic, and the fact it is sealed away to begin with, I think the curse wouldn't affect him. We see in the movie he can take hits from asta without losing much in the sense of mana, and only taking physical damage. And because of his ideas of how the world should work, I wouldn't put it past him to fall for a commoner, but then ultimately abandoning her to accomplish his goal bc he wants to build a better world, and he cannot do that while shocked up with her.
There are also several similarities between asta and Conrad, both are extremely determined, which can be argued to be an inherited trait. Both individually stumbled upon the phrase "my magic is never giving up" which could be a hint from the author. Their fighting styles are also very similar, neither one has a very defensive style, asta continuously attacks, and Conrad is very similar, even going so far as to have so little defence that he allows strikes to hit him even if he could have blocked them.
I'm curious to hear yalls thoughts on this. I haven't read the Manga, just watched the anime and movie.
