Does anyone else feel mugged off by the positive birth movement?
I had my baby over a year ago but now that I've had time to reflect on it I can't help but think what a load of codswallop the positive birth book was.
Like, yep, I totally get that we need to feel empowered and capable in birth but pretty much all the other first time mums I know had awful experiences and I feel like we don't talk about that enough. It's going to be shit so strap in and prepare yourself, rather than trying to sell this blissful "natural" experience.
It turns out the author of the book is a TERF too so I definitely will not be recommending it to any friends of mine who might give birth in the future.
