Hofner violin basses: Ignition vs. HCT.

I've wanted a proper Hofner violin bass basically all my playing life. I have a very cheap Tanglewood copy, but it's pretty rubbish and I want the real thing.

My question is this: is the HCT version worth the extra money over the budget Ignition version? As far as I can see, the main differences are the HCT has German-made electronics, and has a sustain block so isn't fully hollow-bodied.

I haven't been able to track both down in local shops, so any advice anyone has would be appreciated!
