P1S & AMS - gobsmacked by this

So my P1S and AMS combo arrived today, less than 48 hours after placing my order (UK) - additional hot ends, Filament and glue also arrived in the same delivery.

I debated long and hard about A1 vs P1S. Ultimately I just print in PLA (mainly for board game pieces/organizers etc) and even though I’m interested to see what useful things I could print in the future, the A1 would have been perfect. However, I don’t have a dedicated room for printing and I converted my garage to a cinema, so the 3D printer sits in my utility room right next to the kitchen.

After taking the plunge at an eye watering cost (by comparison), and having set it up today I’m really happy I chose the P1S. As you can see from the photo, it doesn’t look out of place, whereas my old Ender bedslinger was a bit of an eye sore.

The utility room isn’t heated and although it’s well insulated I do get condensation in the winter, so AMS and an enclosed unit were also considerations. Oh and I have cats, and even though they generally don’t show any interest I’m sure I a couple of failed prints have been down to wandering paws in the past.

Anyway…..how did I ever 3D print before? The P1S is simply an incredible piece of kit. With just the machine driven calibration my first benchy printed perfectly in lightning time. I printed some terrain pieces and this thing is just so fast and it’s perfect every time. Blown away by the immediate performance with zero faff, although my appreciation is enhanced as I’ve come from an Ender 3 S1 pro. There is simply no comparison.

So happy with this, and thanks to this Reddit for all of the posts….it helped me decide and thankfully….finally….I can stop looking at the endless “A1 or P1S?” Threads 🤣🤣
