What skills should a babysitter have?

Hello! I [F18] am a first-year college student who is interested in becoming a part-time baby sitter around the end of April and throughout the summer months. I will only have two classes past April until it is fall, so I’ll have time to work. I have experience in babysitting since I have helped in watching my 4 and 9 year old sisters since their births.

My question is what specific abilities do parents look for in a babysitter? I can do neccesary things like cook basic foods (and follow recipes for things I don’t know how to make yet), house chores, basic sewing, and homework help / helping with academic problem areas. I am a bit of a germaphobe so I’d make sure that the child is not exposed to anything super unclean and I’d encourage hand washing and not putting things in their mouth. I’m also very against excessive technology use in younger children, so I’d have planned activities to do instead of them using a tablet, but I would like to watch movies sometimes. Are there any other skils that I should develop besides these things? I’d also like to know what age group I should target based on the information I have provided.

Also, I could not handle more than a single child unless it is the child and their friends who are not always present for me to watch over.

Any other things you think I should be aware of is appreciated. Thanks!
