People are arguing with me that it’s rude/weird to throw your own baby shower and it’s making me furious

Semi rant. Some lady commented on a Tik tok post of a lady throwing a baby shower saying she was weird for throwing her own shower. As the one in my family who generally plans all the parties and actually enjoys doing this I took offense. She then said she thinks it’s rude and that someone else should throw it. She then said it’s sad I didn’t have anyone to throw mine. First of all most my family lives in a different country and the ones that do live here barely speak English. It’s not like they could even contact my friends even if they wanted. My husbands mom is literally homeless and living with us. This lady almost made it seem that I shouldn’t even have one and don’t deserve one if nobody else could step up. I didn’t even know this was frowned upon. Most my friends threw their own showers. It’s not like I wasn’t going to celebrate my baby’s life. It’s not even about the gifts. I just wanted to host a party. The NERVE
