Can bullying alone cause BPD?

I recently got diagnosed, but bullying is basically my only childhood trauma. Wouldn't BPD require some more serious trauma like physical or sexual abuse? The people that I know who also have BPD have suffered much worse traumatic childhood experiences. Maybe I'm still valid, but it all feels confusing. Could I have avoided this disorder if only I never was bullied? Also I still haven't really accepted my diagnosis. It will probably take some time.
