Branch advice
Hello all,
I am a freshly new OC here at OCS. As of now my choices for branching are based on limited information. Of course, MI is high on my list but I know how competitive that is. I have had MP high on my list for a while because it seems like a job I could do well at and also I have my eye on joining federal law enforcement once I get out. Engineer is also rising up my list even though I was not a STEM major in undergrad or grad school. I have also heard going combat arms with an MI branch detail is a good way to get experience and then do MI Do any new 2LTs or other young officers have any advice or be willing to talk about this? For reference I have a bachelors in history and political science and a masters in international relations and homeland security policy. My 5 year goal is that I want to drop a packet for the Army;s funded legal education program (FLE) once I make captain and become a JAG so any knowledge or advice about that is a bonus! Feel free to reply to this or PM me, I will respond when I am able, access to my electronics is limited in black phase here. Thank you very much.
