Professions where it is common to move to another nation to earn the big $$$

Hey all,

So recently I have seen a lot of my friends who decided to pursue law upon completing high school speak about how they plan to move to another nation, often the UK and the oil-rich nations in the ME in order to earn the big $$$ as a 9-5 lawyer... almost like it's an echo chamber haha.

So I have a few questions, is this a common practice-- Do people really pursue respectable and generally regarded as 'upper-class' professions like law with the intention of moving away to earn larger incomes?

All answers are appreciated, I am in now way educated about this practice, and have just heard of it as a common practice among my community.
