My peacock died
I had 3 peacocks (now 2), 2 males and 1 female and on the 7th of June, 2 of them ganged up and attacked the other male. I separated the injured male and started treatment his wounds. Couple days went by and I noticed he always had his beak open, like either there was something stuck in his throat or he couldn't breath from his nose. I contacted the vet and he told me to start giving him ciprofloxacin and that he would be fine after 2 days. It looked promising at first but the medicine didn't really work. He was still breathing from his nose and was now making this whistling sound and was constantly trying to clear his throat. I phoned the vet again and he told me to keep administering ciprofloxacin and so I did until 2 days ago when his condition worsened. Mind you, I live in a third world country, in a small town and there are only a couple of vets available in the next town. Anyways, I told the vet that nothing seems to be working and that he needs to get here asap cause now I noticed the peacock had stopped eating and his body temperature felt high. He got here after 2 days, gave the bird 3 different shots, one for his chest, one for his liver and one for his heart and then told me to inject him again in the morning and the evening until he recovers. Well this was last night and this morning when I went out to give him the shots, I saw him laying dead on the ground. Do any of you experienced vets here know what might have actually caused his death?
