NYE Ball drop in Times Square tips?

Hi so my friend and I (late 20's) are considering going to the ball drop this year. I have never been to the ball drop, its always been on my bucket list. I need alllll the tips! It would be great to be in the midst of it all and near the stage, but I heard its a nightmare?

My goal is to have a good time, get lit, and not be TOO TOO miserable. I know it's gonna be uncomfortable at points and I accept that. And I pee a lot, so I need options for that ... I'm not opposed to a diaper but idk if that's practical. If there's other alternatives, I'd prefer that.

Any ideas for NYE parties or bars that we can stay at instead of in the crowd? Where we actually have a chance at getting a good amount of drinks? The food doesn't have to be fantastic. And I don't wanna spend $500 on a party if possible. Good DJ/music would be great. Prefer a no kids party.

Between my friend and I we like hip hop, pop, r&b, etc. She's as white as can be, and I'm half black so do with that what you will.

Also. Any tips on hotels? Where should we stay? Directly in times square? A little bit outside of it, and then uber? But will we even be able to find an uber after all is said and done?

Money IS an object... I'm not rich. But i'm not poor either.
