Reunification Question: Sweden to france as Non-EU?
Bonjour à tous,
My girlfriend and I (23F and 25M) are in a bit if a confusing situation. We met each other while doing our Master's in Sweden. She is a French National, I am from the United States. While in Sweden, we dated for 1.5 years of the 2 year master's program. As the program was a design program, and she lives in Paris with her family, it makes the most sense for her to go back to Paris to seek a job in design. I'd like to join. Currently working on my french and I am around B1 as of now, but before it even matters whether or not I can speak the language, I need to know if there is even a way for me to join her.
Currently, I live in Sweden on an "after-studies job seeking visa". She has just moved back to Paris recently. Is there a way for us to reunify if we were to PACs? Marriage is off the table as we both feel we are too young and would like to be established in our careers before marrying.
From what I can tell, there is some sort of way to reunify through either a "Titre de Séjour La Vie Privée et Familiale" or through a Schengen Visa. However, the exact path to follow seems quite unclear from everything I have read online. We tried calling the préfecture and they told us basically to go fuck ourselves and good luck. So if anyone has any other resources we could look into--a lawyer who might be familiar with this process, or an organization that aids with this sort of thing, I'd be incredibly thankful!
