In deflation times, Why aren’t short-term consumption voucher-issuing measures popular?
Central banks often use Quantitative Easing in the times of deflation. But it may not have big influence if people still hold defensive psychology. They could use that new injected money for saving. So why don’t central banks distribute cash to people in the form of short-term consumption vouchers? This obliges people must quickly spend instead of saving because their vouchers shall be valueless if they don’t spend them before expiry dates.
