Does anyone else hate sound mods?

I honestly prefer the vanilla sounds over mods that "improve" the current sfx. As a headphone user, the sounds in most of these mods are almost always waaaaaaaay too loud, especially explosions. I personally think that the vanilla sounds have just the right amount of volume to the point where I don't feel like I'm going deaf. I don't understand why so many modded servers have them.
