DAE get shortness of breath trying to sleep?

I (23m) have had general anxiety for around 5 years now and recently, I was diagnosed with panic disorder. I’m usually able to deal with my symptoms but recently I’ve been having terrible shortness of breath, especially at night. I’ve been waking up in the middle of the night feeling restless and feeling like I can’t catch my breath, and it then takes me forever to fall back asleep. It’s like a can’t stop focusing on my breathing which makes it so much worse. Does anyone else experience this and do you have any tips of tricks for feeling better when this happens?
