Any tips for being overwhelmed?

I'm not a super creative person so every time I unlock terraforming I get super overwhelmed and restart my island. I literally never got to 5 stars before because it's just too much for me. Do you guys have any tips to work against that? I want a forever island so bad but that's not gonna happen like this
