Got this pristine 1950s Agfa Karat IV. Shelf piece for decades, happy to finally give it some life!

Got this as the only bidder on a cheap estate auction and was amazed to find everything works. The shutter, the rangefinder, focus, no fungus or haze (was ESPECIALLY happy about this), no light leaks, everything works super smoothly. Seems to have hardly been used in 70 years. Such a goregous designed camera for its time, and features small bellows in a pop-out lens.

The rangefinder is a bit slow to shift after focusing, but after some friction it seems to be moving a LOT better now. Was worried it wasn't working at first! Probably a gear getting a bit gunked up inside.

Super excited to shoot it. I was so frustrated as my other two 40s/50s cameras were having mechanical issues. So nice to have one that actually works.

The Agfa cameras often famously suffer from solidifed lubricant grease but this camera thankfully seems to be holding up all these years later! :)
