AIO? I (25F) didn’t like my wedding ring and accidentally made my fiancé (26M) cry.

Yup… that’s it. I’ll call him M for privacy’s sake. So M told me months ago that he was custom making me a ring and working with a high class jewelers to make me something beautiful, I was super excited. He asked me what I wanted and I told him nothing more than $300 at the absolute most, that I really wanted Garnet (very cheap where he’s been traveling) sterling silver, and something pretty and maybe floral themed. Well…. He decided on emerald because it’s my birthstone (I’m not into birthstones or astrology signs or anything of that sort so that was pretty surprising) and he had them make what looks like a men’s ring? Those squiggles you see are supposed to be Ivy wrapping around the band…. And he went way over $300 for it too. I feel bad for not liking it because M really seemed to put a lot of time into commissioning this, but as he was calling me asking for recommendations for the ring it’s like he didn’t listen to a single thing I said and it looks honestly kind of embarrassing for a wedding ring, especially given my engagement ring was a $20 tungsten steel men’s band… Well when he showed it to me initially I immediately felt really disappointed and he could tell right away. I tried to say I liked it and force a happy face but the damage was done and I eventually fessed up that I really didn’t like it and it wasn’t at all what I was expecting. He started crying and I feel just terrible for feeling this way. To me, it just looks completely opposite to what I told him I really liked and honestly kind of like a play-ring or something you’d buy at a discount jewelry booth at a fair. AIO?
