Am I taking too many asthma/allergy meds?
Hi everyone! I have asthma and seasonal allergies. I have been to an allergist and a pulmonologist, both of which said my allergies are most likely a contributor to asthma flare ups that go in and out during the year. As of recent, I am trying to be mindful of what is going into my body amongst my medication and vitamins. The biggest contributor to intake are my allergy and asthma medication. Right now it’s not been too bad, granted I’m taking the most amount of medication ever. But there are times in the year that I have a consistent cough that greatly affects me, especially at night where I cannot stop and therefore not fall asleep. Anyway, am I taking too many or is this fine? And if I am, what would you recommend taking away? (side note: I am aware that Singulair has a block box warning for individuals with depression where taking it has a chance of increasing the likelihood of depression. I do unfortunately fit in that category, however I decided to take it in hopes that it would help my asthma symptoms)
Morning: - Nasacort (steroid nasal spray) - Trelegy (maintenance inhaler)
Night: - Azelastine (nasal antihistamine) - Singulair (leukotriene inhibitor) - Xyzal (oral antihistamine)
Thank you very much!
