Talk me out of a 156 GTA

I have been contemplating a 156 GTA for the better part of a year now. I have tested a few, both selespeed (great) and manual (great-er) and would likely use this to replace my E46 coupe as a do-it-all daily (groceries+work+play). I know that this is a classic alfa in that they disintegrate and there are issues with the cooling and hoses, but im used to shoddy cooling. The ones im finding are very well kept, and extremely tempting. What else do i need to know? Any help/advice? How much should i pay?
