verizon sim with esim

Hoping someone can help explain what I am supposed to do with my verizon sim if I am using and have loaded the airalo esim. I've got a s22 and currently am abroad with the verizon sim turned completely off. With the esim on and using data roaming.

If I turned the verizon sim on and set the esim to primary, will I get charged international data and cellular verizon fees? How do I ensure I set it up correctly? In a way to still get wifi calling and such with verizon #
