AITA for telling a homeless person he can’t have my money?

I have spoken to some people about this but I just need the clarification I’m not an ass.

Basically the other day I was walking around (during my lunch period) in a town where a homeless person approached me and asked if I could do him a favour. Im a very good person so I listened to him and he said that he had a hotel booked for a few days and that he’s £10 short, he then asked if I could give him £10 and he’d give me £5. I told him I couldn’t do that, whilst he was staring in my wallet pointing at the money sticking out slightly, but still feeling bad I gave him some change, about £3, he then asked for one more pound and feeling bad again I gave him it. He then proceeded to ask me for the £10 he saw in my wallet, that’s when I said no and he said “if I give you £9 can I please have the tenner”. That’s when I said to him “I just gave you money”, and proceeded to walk away, he began to follow me but gave up and said thank you.

About 15 minutes later he approached me again and said “excuse me sir can I ask you for a favour?”. I said to him that he just spoke to me and he apologised and went off.

Im 16 and feel bad but I’ve been told that im not in the wrong, I do feel bad but I also know that he was emotionally manipulating me to give him all my bus money for the week. I feel mixed about the situation and felt like I could’ve handled things differently. AITA?
