500 year doing Masters or double majoring?
I wasn’t nominated for psp but have the possible offer of doing a 500 year taking a break this semester and starting again in the fall. My original plan was to graduate fall 2026, but with my 500 year it would move graduation to 2028.
My school requires certain majors to either add a minor or do another major (basically the non stem majors) and I currently have 2 minors. I haven’t done any minor classes yet, so I wouldn’t really be losing anything if I were to drop them and add a major instead. I still have time to drop one of my classes which would have been for the minor because the rest or for my current major and gen eds
I was also told I could do my masters, but I was wondering how I would go about that? Do I graduate with my bachelor’s and minors and then move to grad school immediately (I haven’t looked into to many of them but I’m honestly not too interested in some of the masters programs that my school offer and they don’t have a masters program for my current major) or can I choose another major and do the minimum 12 credits for the next couple of semesters (other majors with similar requirements are about 42 credits which could work) and maybe keep one of my minors since the last semester doesn’t have to be full time (right?)
I’m thinking of adding a business major because it’s 63-64 credits, meaning I could probably drop my minors and just double major instead. They’re interesting minors, but would’t help me that much in the long run.
I understand that I should ask Cadre but I wanted to see is anyone here had experience with doing their masters or went to a school with similar requirements. Also any feedback from current or previous 500s is welcome
