FINALLY got Jornay approved!

Hey folks! Had a pretty big win recently and wanted to share!

I currently take Adderal XR. First medication I’ve been on since I was 12 and it’s worked out great so far! Had some side effects but they went away once I increased my water intake. Been on it since April. In addition to ADHD I have a circadian rhythm disorder- it’s pretty uncommon for me to be able to wake up on time. Light therapy has helped a ton. (I’ve also not been great about being strict on myself with it) I recently found out about Jornay PM and it seems like exactly what I’ve wanted. I’ve always said that a delayed release caffeine pill seems like it would work wonders, and this is a central nervous stimulant that’s delayed release. It’s also the ONLY delayed release stimulant. I got a Rx from my doctor and thought I’d be good to go! Nope! Insurance needed prior authorization and for the past 2 months I’ve been fighting them tooth and nail on it. Between communication issues to my doctor and everything else. The biggest issue I had is they were incessant on my trying a 30 day supply of regular methylphenidate and no matter how much I and the Dr expressed “that’s not going to work, it needs to be delayed release and anything else isn’t actually treating what we’re trying to accomplish.” They wouldn’t budge. I finally got the insurance co to allow my doctor to speak directly with the clinical team and it got approved!!! Picking it up tomorrow with big hopes!!
