IDK what I'm doing, please advise đ
For context, my parents raised me like a house cat. I was fed, I was watered, and was taught virtually nothing, and most of what you're interacting with is a product of the internet as a consequence, so please be patient with me.
More recently than I'd care to admit, I started taking my skin care more seriously and was curious if anyone could please help.
For weeks I've used the cleanser morning and night, then the dark circles eye serum, then the appropriate am/pm, moisturizer. Once a week I've been doing an eye mask and a lip scrub/sleeping mask, and I've been using the Burt's Bees all weather during the day because of its SPF content.
I read recently that I probably shouldn't be exfoliating daily and that I should perhaps try using the CeraVe hydrating facial cleanser instead. Is this true? Are there better alternatives? And how often should I exfoliate?
I also read that I can or maybe should be using the eye masks upwards of two or three times a week. Is this true as well? Are there better eye masks?
Lastly, the eye serum was picked out by a friend of mine. I couldn't tell you where we were at but I asked her to help and she looked at me then picked it out. Are there perhaps better dark circles serums and should this be done daily? Morning and night? Etc?
I never experienced detrimental bouts of acne and only ever really developed pimples on my nose but couldn't honestly tell you when I had one last. I dry shaved my face for years before I started using shaving cream with little to no adverse affects as far as I can tell.
Since beginning this regime I have also experienced no real break outs or major issues. Perhaps a light tightness but nothing I'd defined as concerning.
(I am also inept and don't know what healthy skin is supposed to feel like)
I will say that my face and lips have never felt so soft and appealing, not my eyes so lively, and I'd really like to continue feeling this good about myself.
I apologize if what I'm sharing is TMI, but I want to be thorough so that I can get the proper advice moving forward. Is there anything I should consider doing more or less of? Are there better or perhaps "cleaner" products I could use? I recently made the switch to native shampoo, conditioner, and body wash after reading about all the shampoo lawsuits for making people bald and would gladly make a switch if CeraVe is causing cancer or what have you.
Any and all help would be greatly appreciated, thank you. đ
