IMO At $13.99 there are lots of other MMOs that offer better value than OSRS. Heres a small pricing comparison table.
OSRS holds a lot of good memories for me, but it is hard to justify having more than one active MMO membership at once and there are lots of competitors in this space that offer better value in terms of game play and content.
In my opinion, OSRS is simply not competitive at $13.99USD/mo. I love this game and definitely have some rose colored glasses for it, but it simply cannot subsist on nostalgia alone. It is ridiculous that CMC thinks they should be able to charge comparable membership fees to a game like FFXIV.
Game | Monthly Fee (USD) |
---|---|
OSRS | $13.99 |
WoW | $14.99 |
EvE | $19.99 |
Elder Scrolls Online (ESO Plus) | $14.99 |
Final Fantasy XIV | $12.99 |
For mobile players, also consider that that same $13.99 could get you both a copy of Stardew Valley and Terraria on the Play store. Both are great games that could have upwards hundreds of hours of content depending on how you choose to play.
